Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Osun State on Federal Matters, Oluomo Abiodun Oladoyin, has commended the good people of Osun as the state emerged number one in the first week of the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) online pre-registration exercise conducted by INEC.
According to INEC’s official statistics for the week of 18th – 24th August 2025, Osun recorded an impressive 393,269 registrations, representing 28.51% of the total national figure of 1,379,342. This places Osun far ahead of other states, with Lagos trailing at 222,205 (16.11%), and Ogun State at 132,823 (9.63%).
Reacting to the development, Oluomo described Osun’s performance as a “clear testament to the political awareness, resilience, and democratic readiness of our people.” He stressed that the achievement reflects the determination of Osun citizens to play an active role in shaping the future of governance through the power of the ballot.
While commending those who have already registered, he urged others who are yet to participate to take advantage of the ongoing exercise. He said:
“Every voter card is a voice, and every voice matters. Osun has set the pace, but we must sustain the momentum by ensuring no eligible voter is left behind.”
Oluomo encouraged youths, first-time voters, and those who need to update their details to complete the process promptly, emphasizing that the PVC remains the strongest tool of empowerment in a democracy.
