The Olubadan-designate, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, has announced that one of his first public engagements after ascending the throne will be a return to Ibadan Boys’ High School, his alma mater. The former governor of Oyo State, who is set to become the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland, said he intends to teach Physics and Mathematics to the students during the visit.
Ladoja explained that the gesture is his way of giving back to the institution that laid the foundation for his career in public service and business. “I want the students to see that no matter the heights one attains in life, learning never loses its value,” he said.
Born in 1944, Ladoja is remembered as a bright student who excelled in the sciences before pursuing higher studies and later venturing into politics. His coronation as Olubadan places him at the pinnacle of traditional authority in Ibadan, a role steeped in history and cultural significance.
