Senator Kabiru Garba Marafa, the current senator representing Zamfara Central and Zamfara State Chairman of the Tinubu-Shettima Presidential Campaign Council, has announced his resignation from the All Progressives Congress (APC), accusing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of reneging on his campaign promises.
Marafa explained that his decision was driven by disappointment over what he described as a breach of trust between the ruling party and Nigerians. He faulted the APC under Tinubu for failing to deliver on its pledges of good governance, security, and economic recovery.
According to him, the situation has left him with no option but to chart his political future outside the party.
Marafa, once a strong pillar of the APC in Zamfara, played a central role in mobilizing support during the 2023 presidential elections. His departure is seen as a significant blow to the ruling party as it continues to battle growing criticism over its handling of national affairs.
While the senator has not disclosed his next political destination, he confirmed that consultations are ongoing with stakeholders within and outside Zamfara State.
