Happy Frank, widely recognized by his stage name De Yk, is a dynamic Nigerian songwriter and performing artist from Benin City, Edo State. Born on January 1, 1991, he grew up surrounded by music and culture, which fueled his passion for creating timeless sounds. He is a graduate of Auchi Polytechnic, where he began developing his signature style that blends Afrobeat, street vibes, and contemporary rhythms.
De Yk has steadily risen in the industry, earning collaborations with respected acts such as Erigga, Graham D, Twest, Jaywillz, Oga Network, Biggest Believe, DSY, and Awatchiman. His music resonates deeply with fans for its originality, lyrical depth, and relatable storytelling.
On stage, he is known for his energy and connection with the crowd. He has performed alongside Portable, Graham D, Erigga, Kolaboy, Hotkid, Shallipopi, and Shatta Wale—the latter famously appreciating his performance by blessing him with money live on stage.
In 2022, De Yk successfully launched his debut album project, featuring guest appearances from Berri Tiga, DJ S-Jude, and many other rising stars. The event further established him as a versatile artist with a growing influence in Nigeria’s vibrant music scene.
